Markus Wanger

Exhibition Dates: June 1, 2007 — March 31, 2008

Born in Feldkirch, Austria, Markus Wanger has been living and working in Vaduz, Liechtenstein as a painter. His work has been shown in New York, Europe and Asia in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and is represented in major corporate, museum and private collections. Recent shows include European Free Trade Association, Brussels, Belgium in 2001, Shanghai Spring Art Salon, Shanghai, China in 2003 and Gallery Vehovetz, Vienna Austria in 2006.

Wanger states that colors often speak a clear language. They may enhance or subdue the mood of the viewer. Yellow, blue and red as triad signal unambiguous conditions and moods, whereas blended colors leave leeway on both sides. His painting technique, the 3-D Structuralism, developed over a decade, applied intuitively and spontaneously on any artwork, expresses his longing for balance. Many of his paintings tell about the places he has visited. People, landscape and architecture always deeply impress him and find entrance into his work.
